5 PATH® Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy

5 PATH® stands for 5 Phase Abreactive Transformational Hypnotherapy. As the name suggests, there are 5 distinct phases of the treatment.
Let me explain a little about how things work, using overeating as an example, although we could just as easily be talking of any compulsion, habit or unwanted behaviour or fear etc.
The Nuts and Bolts
So, let's say you're eating more than you'd like to. Maybe you're eating even when you're not hungry. You might be feeling sad, short tempered, with low self-esteem and a general depressed feeling. Or maybe you need to stop smoking, but just can't manage it.
These and many other problems have something in common: feelings. These uncomfortable feelings happen when we don't take care of the problem that's causing the feeling. We engage in these behaviours in an attempt to distract ourselves from that 'uncomfortable feeling'. For example, we overeat when we feel sad, lonely or bored... trying to fill up or feed the void. But does eating really help us feel any less lonely or hurt or bored?
No, but it takes our mind off the problem briefly by distracting us. Of course, it's only a temporary way of coping with that uncomfortable feeling. In reality, the cause has neither been removed nor satisfied. And so that uncomfortable feeling returns again and again, often with a vengeance, and we're right back where we started... only this time we're even more frustrated and depressed.
The Key Is In The Subconscious
Identifying our feelings is a key part of 5 PATH® Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy. The fact is that our subconscious is a very strong component -- and perhaps the major 'driver' -- of our mind. It knows what we need to do in order to overcome that 'uncomfortable feeling'. And Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy guides and helps the subconscious mind to do just that. You see, that 'uncomfortable feeling' you're experiencing probably started from a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of an event that most likely happened in an earlier time of your life, very often in childhood. Often it's an everyday occurrence that was viewed or interpreted incorrectly and then forgotten by the conscious mind. (Or, more rarely perhaps, it was something that was viewed correctly as a real danger, but which the child you once were had no way of knowing it would survive.)
As children, we tend to interpret events and occurrences very personally and even minor things can sometimes feel like 'the end of the world'... and we may even have blamed ourselves for things that really weren't our fault.
As we grow and experience similar events and occurrences, we internalise the misinterpretation of those events and subsequently reinforce the notion "It was my fault" etc. As we do this, that uncomfortable feeling of fear or guilt or whatever, intensifies and the feeling becomes part of our history, the history of who we think we are. Unfortunately, we often build our decisions and a whole segment of our identity on that childlike interpretation of our history and that "uncomfortable feeling". And all of this is done subconsciously. Returning To The Source
Through 5 PATH® Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy, you are taken safely back to the first time you experienced that 'uncomfortable feeling'. Once that experience is uncovered, the 'Grown-Up You' clarifies and re-interprets what happened to 'You as a child'. When that event or occurrence is clarified, explained and neutralised, then that programme stops running in your subconscious - it is 'deleted' and there is no reason for that 'uncomfortable feeling' to remain part of your life.
Once the 'uncomfortable feeling' is neutralised, then we can continue to eat (for example), only when we are hungry -- not when we are hungry for company. friendship or love.
Through Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy®, we no longer need to be distracted from uncomfortable emotions because the necessity -- the 'driver' -- for those emotions is simply no longer there.
