The Mountain and You
December is here and another year draws to its close.
What kind of a year did you make it?
Whatever your life has been in this past year it has in some way changed you.
Whether it has been a marathon or a sprint, a stroll in the park or that mountain you have been climbing, you have moved - and it is through movement that we grow.
Even when we are feeling stuck we are moving towards a place where change must come.
Though life itself is movement, perhaps sometimes we need to feel stuck. When we have been running too fast, or in the wrong direction, then feeling stuck can give us the space to draw breath and to reflect; it can provide that pause we need in order to take a different path up the mountain.
The sands of time will continue to run, but we ourselves must sometimes stop running. No matter how busy and rushed we are, we can pause and take a little step back. After all, a mountain is climbed one step at a time.
Yes, December is the end of a year, but it can also be the beginning of a newer, fresher you.
Take that step back, and the picture you'll see may not be of an ending, but of a brand new beginning.
No matter what is happening or not happening in your life right now, always remember that you have a choice. Mountain or no mountain, this coming year really can be your year.
Why wait any longer? Today is the day that you can finally choose to be you.
Happy holidays!
