An Open Heart
December is once more upon us and with it comes the anticipation of the approaching festive season.
Already the shops are milling with people busily buying gifts and treats in preparation for the end of year holidays.
For so many of us, this is a time of giving and of receiving; a time for open hands and open hearts.
As the year draws to its close, we treasure those special days when we come together with friends and loved ones. It is as if this season has granted us a special dispensation to give a little more of ourselves and to share the warmth and the pleasure of simply being alive.
In truth, of course, our lives are filled with special days: holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and the most special day of all - today.
Today life itself begins all over again. Today life grants you a special dispensation, you have the chance to start afresh, to free yourself of the limiting beliefs and outmoded patterns and habits of the past.
Yes, today can be like so many other days that have already come and gone. But what is the point of endlessly repeating the past?
You really do not need to wait for the calendar to tell you when to open your heart and begin to enjoy life. Why not begin right now?
There really is no better time.
May you open your heart to joy, sharing the warmth with your world and with everyone in it this festive season.
