The Will To Grow

Articles Peter Field Hypnotherapy. So many of the people who come to see me do so with the past weighing heavily on their shoulders and in their hearts.

Indeed, a big part of my job is to help them to see that whatever that past may have been, it is not and it never was them.

Each one of us has a past and, in one way or another, that past has conditioned us to behave in certain ways.

Inside all of us, mixed right in with the joy, there are negative habits, ancient angers and resentments, useless obsessions and worn out modes of being.

None of these things help us or anyone else. All of these things hinder our growth, stifling our own inner peace and lessening our humanity.

Because of this, we each have a constant need to let go and move on, to grow beyond the conditioning experiences and limiting confines of the past.

This takes courage, but more than this, for real change to take place we need to want to grow. We need to have the will to grow.

Indeed, this will to grow is perhaps the single most determining factor in the success or failure of therapy. Without this will to grow, little can really be accomplished.

With this will to grow, wonderful and life changing things can and do happen.

Yes, we may cherish the past and take wisdom from it. After all, it teaches us that life itself is a fleeting and a precious gift. But it is a gift that cannot be lived retrospectively. It can only be lived and appreciated moment by moment and it can only be lived in a forward direction.

There really is no need to wait any longer to truly live your gift.

The sooner you move on, the more wonderful your life will be. Yes, it will take some work, but not nearly as much work as carrying the past with you day in and day out.

Why not take that first step now?

All it takes is a genuine will to grow.
