A New Year, A New You

Articles at Peter Field Hypnotherapy Something about a New Year opens the possibility that we can leave behind old habits and take on a new and better way of living.

'Everything in the past died yesterday; everything in the future was born today’ as the ancient Chinese proverb has it.  And certainly, this is the feeling many of us experience as we head into the New Year, armed perhaps with at least one New Year’s resolution.

Here are the top 5 Most Popular Resolutions:

Exercise regularly/Lose weight: :         37%
Work harder/smarter:                          23%
Eat a healthy diet:                               13%
Stop smoking, drinking:                         7%

All others:                                            20%

Now comes the hard part.  How do we go about implementing those resolutions – stick with that diet, stop smoking those cigarettes, learn to conquer that fear?

Will power alone is rarely enough. That’s why so many people fail to stick to resolutions.

We need the co-operation of the subconscious. Hypnosis enables us to make direct contact with the subconscious, to realign it so that we are driven by the positive aspects of change, not through negative things like denying ourselves food, cigarettes etc.  When this is done, we find it much easier to change.

‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first small step’ as that other proverb says.  Here are some positive steps you can take in order to start your journey into the New Year.
